Hardwood Flooring

Solid hardwood floors come in a wide range of dimensions and woods. Oak, Maple, Cherry, Mahogany and Walnut are just a few of the many hardwoods that we work with. Plank sizes range from the most common width of 2 ¼” all the way up to 8 ¼” wide planks. Planks 4” wide and up need special installation, they must be glued and nailed.

Hardwood floors are a classic and elegant choice for any home. They are very durable and a new floor can be refinished many times. At Stanley Flooring we excel in installation of new flooring. Installation is always efficient. We recommend hardwood flooring for houses and most condominiums. Hardwood floors are very easy to clean and are a much better choice than carpet for people with allergies. Hardwood floors will never go out of style, and add great resale value to any home.

Engineered Flooring

Engineered flooring differs from traditional hardwood flooring in that it is planks which are composed of wood particles with a layer of hardwood flooring on top. One of the advantages of engineered flooring is that is very convenient as the wood comes sanded at stained. Engineered flooring takes less time to install than traditional hardwood flooring because it can be glued directly onto cement or cork, or it can be nailed or glued to plywood. Flooring can be walked on the next day after installation

Engineered flooring comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes, just like traditional hardwood flooring. Engineered flooring is especially good for high rises, where people want the look of hardwood flooring but don’t have the time or can’t have mess and noise of installation. Because it is glued directly onto cork or soundproofing material the floor level will not be as high as with traditional hardwood flooring. Some of the brands of engineered flooring we work with are Mirage and Bruce.

Pre-Finished Flooring

Pre finished hardwood flooring is solid hardwood that has had stain and finish already applied at the factory, so it just needs to be installed. This type of flooring must be installed over plywood. Because no sanding or finishing on site is necessary, this cuts down on dust and installation time. Once it is installed, the floor can be used right away. This type of flooring is good for single family homes, townhouses, and condominiums where the job needs to be done very quickly.

Pre finished flooring comes in a variety of sizes, wood species and finish colors.

EcoFriendly Flooring

Eco friendly flooring is becoming very popular right now as people are becoming more concerned about the environment. Options for eco friendly flooring range from using sustainable woods such as bamboo, to using hardwoods that come through specific retailers that guarantee that the chain of production doesn’t hurt the environment. Also, there are options to use low VOC glues and finishes when installing eco friendly flooring.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is a wood composite with a screened picture of flooring on top that mimics the look of wood. Unlike engineered flooring, laminate flooring cannot be refinished and does not contain any real hardwood. Laminate flooring has a low price, quick and easy installation, and is very low maintenance. With the new glue-less methods, laminate flooring usually snaps together and is installed over an existing subfloor, which makes it very convenient and creates a minimal mess. Laminate flooring is available in a wide variety of colors and finishes to suit any taste. Laminate flooring is especially popular for use in kitchens because of its extreme durability and easy cleanup.

I recommend laminate flooring for people who would like the look of hardwood floors but are on a budget.
